"I was born in a small town..."

I love our little town of Fountain Inn! I am happy that we are raising our family in Fountain Inn. I was soo impressed with our town on Thursday evening! Our local National Guard Base was coming home from Afghanistan. I think people had been waiting to greet them home all day! I saw service that morning at City Hall but no guardsman yet. Then on our way to Marley's softball game we saw the bus coming off the interstate! There was a Fountain Inn police car in the front and several Veteran Bikers escorting the big bus of Guardsman coming home! Then we looked down main street and saw people lined up and they had the firetrucks across from each other on the street! The were spraying their water cannons in an arch pattern! (The poor Veteran bikers probably got soaked!) IT literally brought tears to my eyes! It gave Jon and I an opportunity to again tell Marley of her great grandparents who have served our country(Marion Long, Kenneth Langdale, Joe and Betty McCoy, and John Calvin Owens)! To tell her of the memories of her great grandfather's that have passed away! To tell them how special they were for serving our country.

Fountain Inn National Guardsman, thank you! Thank you for your service and the service of your family! Words can not truly express how proud we are of you! Thank you for your determination and perseverance and WELCOME HOME!

That is truly a moment I will never forget, living in my small town!

That is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! I cry everytime I hear of a homecoming! It warms my heart to know that they are being celebrated. I think sometimes some people forget that there are still soldiers over there and more coming and going!
