Girl's Morning Out!!

On Friday, we dropped Carpenter off at school and headed off on our exciting day! Sadie and I together, just the two of us! First, we had to go to and OBGYN appointment. Our 4th baby is doing great so far! Sadie likes to talk to all the nurses and play peak-a-boo in the doctor's office. Our next stop was to Barnes and Noble to pick up some beach reading material! I got the book "Gifts; Mothers Reflect on How Children with Down Syndrome Enrich Their Lives" by Soper. I have only read two of the stories from mother's and this book is awesome! Side note: When you find out that your child has Down Syndrome(T-21) you have a great deal of medical books and therapy based books out there for you to gain information from. This book is more of the emotional reflections of families who have children with T-21. I can't wait to read more about the joy other families experience. Sadie loved going into the children's book section and grabbing books and stuffed animals! Then we went out to eat at Sticky Fingers in downtown. Sadie loved watching all of the traffic of cars and people go by. Downtown Greenville is such a beautiful place to hang out. Our time had run out and we had to go pick up Carpenter from school. Sadie was worn out, she fell asleep in the car. I love being able to spend one on one time with her. She is very unique!

Later that night, Jon, Carpenter, Sadie, and I went to our DSFAG ice cream social. We all had a wonderful time of playing with friends, eating great ice cream, and seeing how everyone was doing. Carpenter and Sadie had a great time. We then picked up Marley from VBS. She had a wonderful week of VBS! Marley got to watch Mrs. Mary eat a cricket!

Sorry for the quick update! I will post more later! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Yeee Hawww!!!

This beautiful Saturday morning I decided to take the kids to Meme and Papa Owens house to ride the horses! The kids absolutely loved it! Carpenter sang the whole time while riding the horses. He said two new words while we were out there: jog(which is a speed in between a walk and a lope) while he also signed "more", and Zip(which is the name of Papa's dog). When having a child that is a little slower to talk, you rejoice in every word he says. Sadie did not want to get off the horse. She through a "fit" when we would try to get her down. Sadie would grab a hold of the horn and dare you to pry her off. My favorite "fit" she throws is the "drop down fit." This is the "fit" where her whole body goes limp and she screams at the top of her lungs! Marley got on the horse a little bit. She is still a little afraid from falling off last year. I can't blame her!

Later that evening we went to the Long's house to see how the irrigation system was going. They had accidentally cut the sewer and water lines! Dirty work! But they all got it worked out at about 9:30 pm. While Pop-Pop, Jon, Lee, Erick, Erick's dad worked hard, the kids and I played! Carpenter enjoys playing in the sandbox and throwing things down the slide. Sadie just wants to be let into the playhouse. Carpenter likes to keep her out! So when Carpenter heads to the sandbox, Sadie goes to play in the playhouse. Marley loves to do tricks on the swings and dance around the yard. Gran and Pop-Pop's house is a wonderful place to play. They have a nice fenced in yard, beautiful plants, wonderful shade, and tons of toys.

Here are some pics of playing kids and tired men!

Spend the Night!!

Marley and Milli have had a wonderful week together at camp. They brought home some fantastic art work. Milli is our family's first spend the night guest. My schedule is so busy with the babies that we haven't had the opportunity to have someone over for Marley. We finally have every one's sleep routines down and are able for Marley to have a friend to spend the night. Marley and Milli seemed to have a good time together. Carpenter adores Milli. He is constantly hugging her. Both, Sadie and Carpenter, get upset when the girls want to play by themselves.

We decided to go out last night during a downpour to get Carpenter's hair cut. With boys, you have to get their hair cut all of the time. And I am sad to say Carpenter was way over due. He did pretty good during the hair cut. The only part he fussed at was when she was washing his hair. Mrs. Lisa(Hairstylist) put some mousse in Carpenter's bangs to puff them up! He looked like a teenager. I love his hair like that!

Carpenter has been having bad dreams during nap time lately. It is hard for me to calm him down. Luckily daddy was home to help him get back to sleep. Carpenter absolutely adores his father. They have this special bond together. Here are some pics of Carpenter's sleeping position's! He is so close to falling off!

On a little special note: The passing away of Mrs. Ruth Bell Graham is a sad but joyful day. Sad that Billy Graham has lost his partner for life and children lost a mother. But joyous in the fact of Mrs. Graham is going home to our Lord. I have watched specials on UNCTV about the Grahams' life together. I greatly admire her. You could just tell how much they loved each other. The love that is centered in Christ. She got to travel a lot with her husband. But Mrs. Graham also was at home by herself with 5 kids a great deal of the time. And I know that takes a great deal of strength. I can not imagine life as the wife of Billy Graham. As Jonathan is able to serve the Lord easier in some ways. I try not to get upset with myself. God has called me to be the mother of 4 children and I enjoy it! But sometimes you wish you could get out and serve God more. But I know I do this in the journey of my family and teaching them about the joy from the Lord. Mrs. Ruth Graham has showed me through her walk how I can be a servant of God even if I am at home right now. Please pray for their family.

Birthday Supper

So we decided to go out to eat at Silver Bay to celebrate Jon's birthday. Gran, Pop-Pop, Marley, Milli, Meme, Papa, Taylor, Jon, Carpenter, Sadie, and I were the wonderful people who enjoyed supper together. The kids love to go there because of the huge fish tanks. Which is good to keep them entertained but bad in the fact that they constantly want to get out of their seat and go and see them. We all ate a wonderful supper, opened presents, and ate lemon poppy seed cake from Strossner's. Our supper was very eventful! Marley spilt her drink twice! Poor baby! She was just so excited her bf Milli was there. Carpenter was pretty good except for taking off his shoes and putting his feet on the table. With Sadie, there was a constant battle. She kept standing up in her high chair, and I kept saying in my firm voice "Get down Sadie" and "Sit down!" We ended up with a high chair for her without a strap, not that one could contain her. She is very independent! I offered her some cake and she wouldn't eat it! Sadie had to have her cake on her very own plate and feed it to herself! So we had a fun night of pass the grandbabies!

This is a cute pic of Carpenter enjoying his lunch today! Can you guess what it is? spaghetti!

Jonathan's Birthday!

Today is my husband's birthday! Happy Birthday sweetie! I hope you have an amazing day! Jonathan works so we get to have fun and play at home. This pic is a little old, but is the only one of Jon by himself! We have had a little camera trouble!
Carpenter has a check up today with the ENT to see how his tonsil removal surgery is healing. He doesn't seem to be quite himself yet. But hopefully he will perk up pretty soon. Marley is at creative arts camp all week. She is going with one of her best friends from school. They seem to love the art, drums, and creative movement segments. Sadie is the typical third child, who has to be taken everywhere the other children go. Hopefully sometime soon I can find an activity for just the two of us to do. But right now she is my backseat forever passenger.

Here are a few pics from our Saturday morning ice cream party. It is too hot to go outside during the afternoon. So we spoiled the kids with ice cream after they played outside after breakfast. Everyone seemed to enjoy it!

This one is Carpenter before ice cream!

This one is Carpenter eating his tasty ice cream! Both the babies had to have a cone!
Notice how quickly daddy gave up his chair! Here are some pics of our girls!

I hope everyone has a blessed day!

My first attempt!!!

This is my first attempt at starting a blog for my family. My husband, Jonathan, encouraged me to do this. He saw my best friend Kelly's babysite. So this will be fun trying to keep the website up while being so busy with three kids. But I am excited about sharing our family with our family and friends. Please bare with me while I try to learn how to do this!
