I was able to go to Carpenter's school when he was the line leader! He gets to wear a special sticker, check the weather, and say the pledge. It was also show in tell day!

On Sunday May 18, was baby dedication day at church! Rowan is not in the usual white outfit! Jonathan doesn't like all of that fru fru stuff for his boys!

On Monday May 19, was Marley's last softball game! Afterwards they had a awards banquet at Ton'ys pizza. My camera batteries were dead, so I had to take a pic afterward!

On Wednesday May 21, was Carpenter's last day at FIFBC 3K. They had an awards banquet and then they went to Climbin' High for a party! Jon, Gran, Pop-Pop, and Marley were able to come to the awards. But I had the three babies by myself for the party at a bouncy place. To say I don't have enough hand is the easiest way to put it! Carpenter gets a little overwhlemed by bouncy places and physically it is sometimes hard for him to move around on those things! Sadie loved it! She was all over the place! But trying to keep them together whil holding Rowan was difficult. Luckily, Renee McDannald, held Rowan for me. She even got him to sleep! Thanks, Renee! By the end of the party the kids were worn out and ready for a nap! I was tired also from carrying Carpenter up the slide several times!

Later on that day, we played outside with Carpenter's new chalk from school! We also went for a walk! Why don't they make wagons with three seats! I had to hold Rowan in my arms the whole time! By the end of the walk I was worn out!

Low Country Trip

We may be going down to see Granny in the next few weeks! She is in the Hampton, Varnville, Allendale area of South Carolina. We might stay an extra day, depending on the cost and how busy Jon is. Does anyone know a great place to take 4 kids in the Low Country. Last time we spent a day in Savannah, it was nice, but not the kid friendliest! So anyone of you, low country gals or former low country gals can give me suggestions, I would appreciate it!

Born in the USA!

I am proud to be an American! I think if you have a child with a disability this is the country to live in! Is everything perfect, no! Are there still great gains that need to be made, yes! But there are a lot of opportunities for Carpenter here that can not be found elsewhere.

I found this press release when looking up info on the www.ndss.org website(National Down Syndrome Society). This press release came up and had nothing to do with what I was looking for. The title of the press release struck me so I read it! I think that you can tell a lot about a country's character by how they treat people with disabilities. This P.R. just tore me up inside, so very grateful that Carpenter was nice and safe in our home! American servicemen and servicewomen, this is what you are fighting for, protecting us! I got struck at how blessed we were to live in this American society but also how quickly a society can change into an hateful cruel reality. Just like when I watch stuff about WW II, I think that Hitler would have killed my son! I think about the mindset of people who fear imperfection. And that the imperfection is truly in all of us!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 1, 2008

The National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) and the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) condemned the use of individuals with Down syndrome by terrorists following dual bombings in Baghdad Friday. According to news reports, terrorists used remote-controlled explosives attached to two women with Down syndrome to kill at least 73 people.
Responding to news of the attack, NDSC Executive Director David Tolleson said, “this tragedy is compounded by the terrorist’s vicious exploitation of individuals with Down syndrome.” NDSS President Jon Colman agreed, noting that “this was not a suicide attack, these women were murdered, as surely as the other victims.”
This is not the first time individuals with Down syndrome have been used by terrorists in such deadly attacks in Iraq. On January 31, 2005, an explosive device tied to a boy with Down syndrome was exploded in Baghdad, in an act condemned at the time by NDSC and NDSS and others around the world.
Both the National Down Syndrome Society and the National Down Syndrome Congress urge the Iraqi government to use every available method to end the abuse of individuals with Down syndrome and to use this tragedy as a catalyst to enact and uphold policies and laws that will protect the basic human and civil rights of all individuals with disabilities.

Failure

Do you ever feel like a failure? Right now I feel like such a complete and utter failure! My house is in chaos! It is in just such disarray! I mean it is not like nasty. I just need some time to organize and regroup. I mean when your house is a mess you just can't relax and can't be happy! It is just so hard to get everything done. I try to organize during nap time but as soon as they wake up I don't have time to put everything up! I am just feeling exhausted and see no end to the madness of my house! I mean I stay at home I should be able to handle this, this is my job! So this is why I feel like such a FAILURE! My mom said she would watch the kids one Saturday morning and maybe then I can get some hold on my house!

Happy Mother's Day!

Every Friday before Mother's Day the preschool at FIFBC has their annual Mother's Day Brunch! I enjoyed 3 brunches with Marley and now I had my first one with Carpenter. Sadie was at MMO, so I just had the boys! Carpenter's class sang "You are my Sunshine" and we had a wonderful meal. The kids had chicken fingers and the mothers had chicken salad croissant and strawberry shortcake! It was delicious! I always enjoy these brunches! Carpenter made me a wonderful corsage, bouquet of flowers, and a beautiful painting of the two of us! Mrs. Karren, one of Carpenter's teachers, is the most craftiest(nice grammar huh?) lady! She makes the cutest things. My favorite Mother's Day gift from Marley is when they melted an orange pill bottle with beads in it, in the oven. They made a pin out of it! That pin is something I will keep forever, and do occasionally wear! Carpenter made me a corsage out of a coffee filter that they dipped in different colors. He also made me a bouquet out of Styrofoam cups. They cut the cups, put them in the oven, which curled the ends, making it look like a flower, then painted it and added yarn in the center. They were so adorable. Then he painted a pic of a sun and then stick people of Carpenter and my self! They said he did it all by himself and all the had to help him with was his name and mom. I have no pic of this but I will get one! I can't wait to hang it up!

Trip to Plain

Here are just a few pics when we went to see Pop-Pop being principal at Plain Elementary school! It was neat to go back! This was my elementary. I think I recognized a few teachers. Everything seemed bigger when I was a kid. I also swung by my old house that I grew up in!
